Hemelvaart Treffen 2024
Omdat we in het verleden altijd samen met de Duitse IG Der VW 411/412 Besitzer afwisselend het Hemelvaart treffen in Nederland en Duitsland hebben georganiseerd, hebben we besloten om deze traditie, ondanks het opheffen van de genoemde IG, proberen voort te zetten en het Hemelvaartstreffen van de VW 412 Club Holland in 2024 plaats te laten vinden van 9 t/m 12 mei 2024 op het Knaus Campingpark Hennesee, Mielinghausen 7, 59872 Meschede (Duitsland).
Dit doen we om het ook voor onze Duitse leden en andere Duitse Type 4 rijders aantrekkelijk te houden om deel te nemen.

Voor wie niet met een caravan, camper of tent reist, heeft de camping een aantal huuraccommodaties in de aanbieding.

We sluiten de avond af met een gezellige gezamenlijke barbecue op de Camping Hennesee.
Zaterdag:
De dag moet in het teken staan van gezelligheid, waarbij je veel tijd kunt nemen voor benzinepraatjes of eigen verkenningen in de omgeving.
We hebben die avond samen een maaltijd gepland in een nabijgelegen restaurant.

Pinkstermeeting VW 411-412 Friends met K70 Club
Next spring there is to be a very special event in the Type 4 scene: a really big meeting lasting several days together with the K70 friends in the Südheide nature park, i.e. in the beautiful countryside around Celle. Both dissimilar mid- range saloons were built on the same assembly lines at Volkswagen in Wolfsburg and Salzgitter at the end of the 1960s/beginning of the 1970s and, despite all the technical differences, they actually have a lot in common. For example, we find common exterior paintwork and interior fittings as well as similar accessories.
The Südheide Nature Park is conveniently located near the A7 and A2 highways in the heart of Lower Saxony, making it easy for a wide range of our members and all other Type 4 enthusiasts to get here. We hope that by positioning ourselves more in the north, we will also attract friends from the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Poland. In addition, we have particularly favorable conditions for exciting rides and tourist highlights. We can expect very well-developed and less frequented roads in attractive heath and forest landscapes and tranquil Low German villages where time often seems to have stood still. This is one of the reasons why the area was chosen by both Germany’s largest car manufacturer Volkswagen and the German army for their extensive testing grounds.
We are currently working with the K70 Club on the detailed program, but you can already look forward to a whole range of highlights, including a visit to the Tank Museum in Munster. As one of the most successful technical and cultural museums in Germany with well over 100,000 visitors a year, it not only offers a comprehensive overview of military technology from the last 100 years, but also allows us to drive and park our vehicles exclusively on the museum-ready tank display area. The off-road capability of the competing drive concepts can be tested on a drivable embankment built for the tank demonstrations and there will be unique photo opportunities for our vehicles.
Of course, there will also be plenty of sociable moments at our meeting: for example, a visit to a typical, preserved Lower Saxon country inn is planned. The Dorfkrug Eversen has been run by the same family for 13 generations and has been licensed since 1670. We will have exclusive use of the large parking lot for petrolhead discussions and will also be able to indulge in the temptations of Lower Saxon cuisine.
The second day (Whit Sunday) begins with the annual general meeting. After the work is done, a rally will entice us to drive through the beautiful spring landscape and to certain sights of the Lüneburg Heath. The idea is to form pairs of Type 4s and K 70s, with the aim of combining vehicles of the same color in teams. In any case, the focus will be on having fun and enjoying the experience rather than competing for first place. And since the K 70 owners are just as nice people as we are, we’re all sure to have a lot of fun. In the evening, we will end the day together on a large terrace by the Aller.
On Whit Monday, a visit to the Bulli collection in Hanover is planned for all those who don’t want to leave early in the morning for the return journey. This museum, which is not open to the public, offers a complete overview of the development of the Volkswagen Type 2, in which “our” Type 4 engine came to new glory for quite a while.
The “headquarters” of the meeting will be the “Celler Tor” hotel in Groß Hehlen. The general meeting will also take place here and we have reserved a corresponding number of rooms.
Alternatively, cheaper accommodation is also available in various hotels, guesthouses or campsites in the region. Please make your own reservations. We strongly recommend that you do this as soon as possible after the publication of this magazine, as our date is at Whitsun and there is already great demand.
In order for the organization team to have an overview of the number of participants for our organizational planning, we ask for binding registration using the form available here now, but no later than 31.03.2024. With the registration, please transfer an amount of 15 € to the club account as members, in return for which you will receive the 3 last published copies of our club magazine “In4mation”, which was previously only available digitally, as printed copies at the meeting. Museum admission and the city tour will also be included for club members.
